Cut Copy's Zonoscope covers some serious sonic territory. A wide range of sounds spew out from song to song on the band's latest release. While some tracks rely on strong hooks and vocal melodies to drive them, others dip into uniquely-styled experimentation.

The '80s new wave influence can be felt strongly on many tracks.  Cut Copy seems to take all of the bits of pleasurable nostalgia associated with the golden era of new wave and none of the fluff. The sound is expanded even further on tracks like "Where I’m going," in which a musical styling reminiscent of the Beach Boys can be heard.

Personally, I’m picky about the soundtracks that accompany my stellar dance moves. Zonoscope has come through for me with many danceable numbers. Songs such as "Take Me Over" and "Corner of the Sky" are ideal for showcasing dance skills, or in my case, humiliating oneself. Dive into the album and you might just find yourself slow-motion, hands-in-air dancing; I know I did.
