Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in the continuation and success of KDHX Community Media, and do everything from being on air to engineering audio to stuffing envelopes. In a given year, over 800 individuals volunteer at KDHX, bringing their diverse backgrounds and various levels of experience. And we are always looking for new, motivated participants.

If you are 18 or older and you want to become a KDHX volunteer, the place to start is our orientation. Participants will learn about the history of listener-supported radio, access television, community media, programming, governance, educational offerings and volunteer opportunities. Upon completion of the KDHX Orientation, students can become members and will be eligible to be trained to volunteer. Orientation is free, but reservations are required.

Orientations are currently held twice a month, on one weekday evening and one weekend day. For August, orientations will take place on Tuesday, August 19 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, August 23 at noon at The Stage at KDHX (3524 Washington Avenue). To register, email Scott with your preferred date at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
