88.1 KDHX is known for broadcasting some of the most eclectic and excellent music programming of any radio station in the world. Likewise our website, KDHX.org, is an amazing source of music reviews, interviews and other features. Our volunteer music writers make that content happen.

Volunteer music writers review concerts, preview events, conduct interviews and cover new releases. Significantly, they write about the over 200 live performances we host every year in our studios.

Goal of Position:

  • To write music-related articles for the KDHX website.


Sample Activities:

  • Write, proofread and revise music-related articles


Additional/Optional Activities:

  1. Fact- and link-checking of published articles
  2. Basic HTML formatting
  3. Work with JPEG, GIF images


Timeframe:

  • Length of commitment: Varies per assignment and skill level
  • Estimated total hours: 3-6 per week


Scheduling:

  • At discretion of volunteer
  • Deadline for each assignment established at start of assignment


Worksite: Work from home

Qualifications/Interest Sought (all training will be provided):

  1. Strong writing background required
  2. Passion for music in a wide variety of genres
  3. Attention to detail
  4. Knowledge of online publishing and basic HTML preferred
  5. Ability to make deadlines
  6. Please submit at least three writing samples (related to music, culture or entertainment, if possible) by web link or document attachment
