Local musicians gathered on Friday to honor the late, great David Bowie and to celebrate one of the local music scene's biggest promotors, club owner Mike Cracchiolo on his birthday.

Billed as "The Black Star All-stars' Tribute to David Bowie," the show packed the Ready Room to near overflow and featured the talents of dozens of St. Louis musicians. Represented that night were the bands CaveofswordS, Aquitaine, 7 Shot Screamers, Karate Bikini, the Lonely Mountain String Band and Giant Monsters on the Horizon. Other participating artists included Brian McClelland, Lamar Harris, Eric Hall and Tory Z. Starbuck.

But the highlight of the evening was birthday-boy Cracchiolo himself, who sat in as the Thin White Duke to anchor several fantastic sets of music.
