The sixth annual Dancing in the Street festival took place on Saturday, September 29th in Grand Center, where three stages showcased a diversity of dance styles from around the world.

Grand Boulevard was closed from Lindell to Delmar, where over 60 local and regional dance companies provided a constant stream of entertainment and talent throughout the entire afternoon. There were over 24 different styles of dance, including tap, jazz, contemporary, ballet, modern, hip hop, Hawaiian and Polynesian, bellydance, Afro-Haitian, salsa and many more.

Spurts of breakdancing with boombox beats could be found on the streets between the stages. People of all kinds and ages showed up to enjoy and celebrate the art, energy, creativity and overall unifying qualities of dance.
