Dr. Wilma King will explore the experiences of these individuals on the home front in the program, “African American Women and Children in the Civil War Era West of the Mississippi River.”  The discussion will attempt to answer questions about women and children on the home front, regarding the disruptions to their lives and how they confronted them as their loved ones fought and died in their quest for freedom.  314-842-1867 extension 230
