Description

The Saint Louis Art Museum and Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art are co-organizing "Impressionist France: Visions of Nation from Le Gray to Monet," an exhibition that explores resonances between landscape and national identity, as reflected in paintings and photographs made between 1850 and 1880.

The exhibition will focus on the whole of France to explore the theme of landscape as a reflection/construction of national identity.
