Ken Waldman comes to SIUE Arts & Issues Performing Arts Series, and he's bringing a troupe of world-class musicians for a night of storytelling, dance, and roots music. Joining Ken will be Appalachian Roots duo, fiddler and dancer, Ira Bernstein, and banjo player and singer, Riley Baugus; renowned Cajun fiddler, David Greely; the Tennessee country and old-time duo of banjo player, Allison Williams and mandolin player, David Long; and a pair of multi-instrumentalists, Jerry Hagins from Austin, and Jordan Wankoff from Chicago. Waldman will introduce the short variety show sets with a short poem celebrating both the music and his home state of Alaska, then let the performers take off. For his own concluding set, he promises a full-tilt music party, complete with Ira Bernstein's clogging. For more information: http://www.siue.edu/artsandissues/waldman.shtml or call 618/650-2626.
