Scott Kirby is a renowned performer of ragtime and related piano styles. He was called "today's best player of Scott Joplin music" by the late Trebor Tichenor, the father of late 20th century St. Louis ragtime. Kirby has expanded into other styles of American music as well, including blues, early jazz, boogie, Creole, and his own original compositions. He takes us on a trip through 150 years of great American music, ending with some of the exciting new works that expand the genre into the 21st century. Scott Kirby is also a visual artist, and he may have some of this many paintings on display at the concert.
