Hailing from from Nashville, Tenn., the Dynamites featuring Charles Walker roll into St. Louis for two full sets of funk and soul at Thursdays at the Intersection.
The intersection of Grand and Washington serves as the heart of Grand Center and is the location of Strauss Park. During the summer and early fall, a free concert series takes place on Thursday evenings in the park from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This annual music series is a collaboration between Grand Center, Inc. and 88.1 KDHX. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and a picnic if they choose.
Edibles will also be available for purchase from the patio of Kota Wood Fire Grill.
The 2012 Thursdays at the Intersection concert series presented by PNC Arts Alive in partnership with 88.1 KDHX and Grand Center, Inc. begins on June 21 and will occur weekly through October 4.
An addition this year includes a commemorative Thursdays at the Intersection poster and passport designed by the Firecracker Press on Cherokee Street. The passport system includes a drawing at the end of the season for prizes including an iPad, a bike, Grand Center “Art and Life” T-shirts and KDHX T-shirts. Every five stamps on the Thursdays at the Intersection passport equals one entry into the drawing. Passports are available onsite at Thursdays at the Intersection. Certain restrictions may apply.
