Description

Tuesdays at KDHX hosts Sessions every fourth Tuesday of the month. March's Session is Rebel in Jamaica: writing services A Reasoning on History and Sound with KDHX DJs Ital K and Michael Kuelker.

 

This 90-minute musical journey traces the rebel tradition in Jamaican music from the roots to the fruits. Special focus on early examples of the rebellion and resistance in Jamaican popular music; the birth of Rastafari; the Coral Gardens Incident of 1963; reggae lyrics & dub poetry; and the present-day crisis at early Rasta leader Leonard Howell’s Pinnacle community in JA.
