Bears Ears National Monument - An Obligation to Act

Enjoy a presentation and short film about the iconic Bears Ears National Monument, a national treasure that is under attack.

The Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments have been dramatically decreased in size and are at risk from mining and other development interests..

“A Wilderness Icon” is a 15 minute film about this red rock canyon country and is narrated by Robert Redford. 

Clayton Daughenbaugh, conservation organizer with the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and Chair of the Sierra Club’s Wildlands and Wilderness Team, will put the film into context and help viewers understand what they can do to protect these spectacular spaces..

“These public lands are among the most beautiful and most intact portions of Creation remaining. We have a great opportunity, and obligation, to act to protect these special places,” says Daughenbaugh.
