Ribbon Cutting and Open House Event for Gravois Greenway Expansion

Phase 1 of the project to connect Grant’s Trail in the Gravois Greenway with the River des Peres Greenway is now complete, and Great Rivers Greenway and St. Louis County Parks are hosting an event to celebrate the latest expansion and give residents a chance to learn more about Phase 2, which will connect the popular greenway with the River des Peres Greenway. Come stop by the new Mysun Charitable Foundation Trailhead on June 24 and check out the new improvements, which include the incorporation of a drinking fountain, restrooms, greenway parking, seating walls, a play structure, a bike fix-it station, and new landscaping. The greenway has also been extended by 2,000 feet. The celebration will run from 2-4 p.m. and will feature a ribbon-cutting, light refreshments, games and a planetary walk, hosted by the Saint Louis Science Center. An open house will also be held at the nearby Orlando’s Event and Conference Center, beginning at 3 p.m., to give residents a chance to view and discuss plans to extend the Gravois Greenway two miles north and link it with the River des Peres Greenway.
