Dreamscapes: New Collages by Allison K. Sissom

You may know Allison Sissom as one of the hardworking artists behind The Moon Zine. Collage plays a major role in that project (they decorate each issue by hand.) Now you can see Sissom's original collage pieces in her new solo show "Dreamscapes" at South City Art Supply, opening on June 2nd. 

Sissom's "Dreamscapes" draw from charming, familiar material like children's books and nature magazines. But don’t mistake sweet for shallow! She painstakingly intertwines imposing natural spaces with intimate human moments. The effect is a moving contradiction between our powerlessness in the face of a vast universe and the certain meaning in a kind gesture. 

Allison has promised 50 pieces for this show, so we expect our 2nd floor to be thoroughly transformed! Don’t miss this opportunity to speak with the artist and dream along with her. We’ll have a dog or two, all the usual refreshments, and a few hours to relax into.
