An Under Cover Weekend 11 - Night One: The 80's

For our 11th year, we are excited to announce that An Under Cover Weekend will present three iconic decades, over three nights, at Delmar Hall — the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s on August 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2017, respectively.

Dubbed a “tradition” by the St. Louis Beacon and “the hottest cover show in town” by ALIVE Magazine, and routinely making local publications’ Top Shows Of The Year lists, An Under Cover Weekend has presented a decade of legendary tribute sets of an incredibly diverse set of artists, such as The Beastie Boys, The Four Tops, ABBA, DEVO, Eurythmics, AC/DC, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Fugazi, David Bowie, and LCD Soundsystem. Some of the sets performed at AUCW have even gone on to become popular local tribute acts, like the Street Fighting Band (Rolling Stones tribute).

Most of all, though, AUCW has set countless music fans on the course to finding their new favorite local bands. All of the bands that perform at An Under Cover Weekend actively play out and record original music in St. Louis. And, for our annual event, these bands take on the persona of a famous band for one night, in what is typically visually and sonically indistinguishable from that of the heroes that they are portraying.

Having already been housed in three beloved St. Louis venues thus far, AUCW has evolved tremendously throughout the years. Over time we have made many investments in helping to develop the bands that play our event — including coaching bands as they prepare, writing well-publicized band-centric announcements, providing professional photo shoots and recording sessions, and adding a massive light show — and the bands have responded by setting the bar higher and higher, with every set. Now, for both the fans and the bands, we are extremely proud to be able to bring Delmar Hall’s level of production, and the incredible vibe of the room, to the next iteration of An Under Cover Weekend.
