"Healthy Kids, Healthy Families" Free Block Party and Resource Fair

“HEALTHY KIDS, HEALTHY FAMILIES” COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY 

FERGUSON, MO, (July, 2017) –  “Healthy Kids, Healthy Families” is a free community block party and free resource fair on AUGUST 12th to provide local community members free information and resources they need to be “Healthy Kids, Healthy Families”.  This event will be located at 33 S. Florissant Ave. in downtown Ferguson FROM NOON UNTIL 4 p.m. featuring FREE vending, games, entertainment, food, health screenings and more.

The block party and resource fair will extend along Wellspring parking on Wesley Ave. and in the parking lot behind The Savoy Banquet Center. The block party and resource fair will have free vending and booths for local businesses and organizations, water games to cool off, free entertainment, food, health screenings, local speakers and so much more.  Ferguson dance troupes as well as local poets and artists will be on site sharing their work and performing. An interactive art table will feature local artists sharing and creating local art with community members.

Some of the vendors featured are Earth Dance Farms, the oldest local organic farm this side of the Mississippi, FYI a local not for profit organization serving the youth of the Ferguson, 2016 Winner of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award: St. Louis Art Works, NerdyGirlz Book Club that inspires and encourages young female readers, local business Straw Hat Aquaponics which donates fresh produce to local food pantries and Seedz of Promise which provides essential needs to women in poverty. This is a great way to meet community members, network, get important community information and gain valuable resources. The “Healthy, Kids, Healthy Families” Block Party and Resource Fair is to promote healthy living and healthy families in Ferguson, Missouri.

Local community member and foster parent, Cathy Miller, eagerly looks forward to the block party and resource fair. “Our kids love coming and ask if the can come to these events. As foster parents, we don't get a break like regular parents do. This is what the kids need;  social interaction and play time at these events.
