Brick City Poetry Festival Kickoff

The Brick City Poetry Festival will return for its third year October 18th and will host events through Sunday, October 22nd at venues throughout the Greater St. Louis area. This year, Quincy Troupe is slated to give the keynote address on Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Missouri History Museum

Brick City will offer pre-festival events this year that will include a River Styx reading at the Contemporary Art Museum that Monday, a Eugene Robinson Writers' Club event Tuesday, and a special screening of "The Roof is on Fire" a documentary film by David Wraith.

The St. Louis Youth Poet Laureate ceremony returns Friday, Oct 20 along with special events featuring the regions, 2016 Youth Poet Laureate.

New this year will be the Borderland Regional Poetry Slam open to teams and solo poets scheduled for late Friday evening and Saturday evening, offering over a $1000 cash prize to the winning team.
