St. Charles County Direct Support Professionals Conference

St. Charles Community College will host St. Charles County Direct Support Professionals Conference from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, and Thursday, March 15, in the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building located on SCC’s campus in Cottleville. Both sessions cover the same material, so attend the day that works best for you.

The event is open to all direct support professionals, families and caregivers of those with development disabilities.

Keynote speakers Mike Berkson and Tim Wambach from Handicap This! will share their stories of help and support. Conference will cover topics include independent living, self-advocacy, de-escalation, accessing benefits, mindfulness, sensory integration, women and autism, acceptance for LGBQT individuals, the DSP as a professional and people first.

Prices vary from $25-55: $25 for keynote and breakfast only; $35 early-bird registration for St. Charles County residents (ends Feb. 13); $45 early-bird registration for out of county residents (ends Feb. 13); prices increase by $10 ($45/$55) after Feb. 13.

Funding for the conference is provided by the Development Disabilities Resources Board of St. Charles County. Support is provided by the Coalition of Service Providers of St. Charles County.
