Theology at the Bottleworks #164
Theology at the Bottleworks #164 | “Forgive and Forget?: Cultural Attitudes Toward Forgiveness in 21st Century America.”
In the wake of a divisive Supreme Court nomination process, in which the country was split over whether allegations of past sexual assault should be a deal breaker for confirmation, and with people more ready to protest and declare outrage than ever, cultural attitudes toward forgiveness are increasingly on display. Who or what are we willing to forgive as a society? What kinds of behavior should we forgive? Does the "who" or the "what" matter more, or are there other, more important factors in deciding whether to forgive? What kind of philosophy toward forgiveness will ultimately maximize human flourishing? Come join the conversation this month as we discuss “Forgive and Forget?: Cultural Attitudes Toward Forgiveness in 21st Century America.”
TATB is a monthly public discussion hosted by MidrashSTL.com that takes up the most important issues of our day, bringing together an amazing diversity of people for the best public discussion in town.
