Art Up Late: Mentors, Muses, and Celebrities
A better reason to stay up late. CAM keeps the doors open until midnight one Friday each season for an exhibition-themed celebration. Art Up Late premieres with a costume party inspired by Mickalene Thomas: Mentors, Muses, and Celebrities. Guests are encouraged to come as their favorite mentor, personal muse, or most adored celebrity. The evening includes a live performance by local rising hip-hop star Eric Donté, who will be premiering his new EP, A Lamp in the Room, on the eve of his tour, beats by DJ Prather, and a silent auction featuring artwork and one-of-a-kind art experiences. Farmtruk, the farm-to-table food truck by Samantha Mitchell (executive chef of The Libertine), will be parked out front with fresh and local late-night bites. The costume contest will include special guest judges from the St. Louis Fashion Fund. Proceeds benefit CAMs thought-provoking exhibitions and innovative education programs.
