The Classified Show: a 24-Hour Conspiracy Festival

We are through the looking glass here, people - grab your tinfoil hat, put some tape over your webcam and forget everything you thought you knew.

After its smashingly trippy debut production in November, PRIME is back with a brand new festival of six original theatrical works. The Classified Show: A 24-Hour Conspiracy Festival will kick off at 8 p.m. April 8 in The Southampton Church (4716 Macklind Avenue). Tickets are $15 at the door.

The first production of PRIME’s four-show 2017 season, The Classified Show will feature six plays that dive down the rabbit hole of America’s fastest growing cottage industry: conspiracy theories. Prepare your mind for six bold new scripts that will explore everything you're not supposed to know: assassination plots, alien visitations, false flag operations and more.

In addition to the plays themselves, visual artists will create a piece of tactile “evidence” for each of the six featured conspiracies.

As with all PRIME productions, the entire festival will be written, rehearsed and performed in a 24-hour frenzy of creativity. An ensemble of local actors, directors and visual artists will team up to produce the work of playwrights from across the nation.

“This show asks our audience to investigate the world they live in, and to unlearn all they think they know,” said PRIME Artistic Director Andrea Standby. “We strive to reform and to enlighten, to confound and to amaze, and to perhaps cause a little cognitive dissonance along the way.”

Standby and Managing Director Kyle Kratky launched PRIME in November with The Transmigration Show, a 24-hour theatre festival themed around reincarnation.

PRIME dubs itself “The Home of the Now.” Its mission is to create raw, welcoming, and unorthodox theatre for all, encapsulating the ephemeral while encouraging community engagement.

The rest of PRIME’s 2017 season will feature three more 24-hour play festivals that will all center around a single unifying theme: question everything - history, stories you thought you knew, identity, even reality. Look for announcements on these shows in the near future.
