The Identity Show: a 24-Hour Liberty Festival

"We've got your “identity politics” right here, buddy: today more than ever, the personal is the political. And in drawing up our next show, we at PRIME want to explore all the ways in which our personal identities tangle with the harrowing politics of today.

Drawing on the Declaration of Independence's promises of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” we declare our independence from those that would seek to erase or marginalize our identities.

The second production of PRIME’s four-show 2017 season, The Identity Show will feature six plays that explore all the messy collisions between the personal and political, along with examining how we can come together and support each other in today's fraught national climate. Playwrights will tackle themes of coming out and gender identity, our private vs. public selves, corporate personhood and more.

Join us at 7pm for the gallery opening with some of St. Louis's finest visual artists, whose images and stories are given to the playwrights and directors as inspiration, and are intricately tied to the overall theatrical experience."
