This band formed originally in the ‘70’s as Olympus and played folk rock music and traditional country.  The name wasn’t very “folky” or “rocky” but the core members, Dennis Ripplinger, Gary Corbin and Bill Belt, hit the clubs to play their kind of music.  Over the years, Dennis and Gary have played together almost constantly with Bill drifting in or out to work on other projects.  Since Olympus, there have been multiple iterations to meet the musical styles of the period:  Diamond Back; Gumbo; Once in a Blue Moon Band; The Satellites.  From The Satellites, Bill and Gary formed The Atomic Duo to play in smaller clubs.  Somehow the other guys kept drifting back in to the fold and it became difficult to explain the name, The Atomic Duo, with five people on the stage.  Enter Gambler’s Taxi! and enter two new players:  Gerry Blood and Bob Sudholt.  After all the years as a bar band and playing other people’s music, Gambler’s Taxi decided that it was time to “play their own stuff” and we recorded our first CD “Long Time Coming” with songs written by Dennis or Gary.
