Big Mike & the Blu City All Stars Debut at Joe's Cafe!

Big Mike Aguirre has been belting out tunes in STL for a long time. He mainly focuses on the Broadway strip with a residency at Beale on Broadway. He makes his Joe's Cafe debut at the tail end of 2018 to celebrate the holidays and have some fun. It's possible there will be a big horn section and some holiday tunes mixed into his practiced and tenured set list. Mike plans to collaborate with some of his fellow musicians in town to bring a unique sound to Joe's Cafe on a cold, winters night. Hang on to your holiday hat for this one, it's gonna get hot inside while it's cold outside!

Big Mike as a guitarist is a slasher, a groover, and a musician who fully understands the soul of the blues. Talented guitarists abound in St. Louis, but make no mistake, Big Mike can hold his own and then some with the deep STL pool of guitar players. The real secret as to why Big Mike Aguirre stands tall among the crowd of other talented blues artists of his generation is found in his voice and on-stage charisma. Big Mike sings from his soul in a warm and expressive voice that touches the audience in a way that few can.

Aguirre absorbed another important lesson from his mentors and that is the importance of the ensemble nature of all the finest blues bands - the sum truly is greater than the individual parts. It takes a man confident in his own skills and desirous of placing himself among the ensemble to understand how working with talented musicians only enhances the soulful blues. Big Mike Aguirre has that confidence, as well as that understanding. Hence, the Blue-City All-Stars!
