Carillon Concert

"Grab a picnic and come and enjoy the beautiful summer June evenings at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis during its annual Summer Carillon Concert Series. Recitals will be held at 7 p.m. each Tuesday in June. All recitals are free and open to the public.

The carillon at Concordia Seminary is one of only 170 such instruments in North America. The 49 bells have been played atop Luther Tower since 1971, and are dedicated to all pastors who have served The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). It is housed in Luther Tower, the 120-foot structure designed by architect Charles Klauder and dedicated in 1966.

Recitals will be held on the following dates:

Tuesday, June 6, 7 p.m. — Karel Keldermans, carillonneur

Tuesday, June 13, 7 p.m. — Karel Keldermans, carillonneur

Tuesday, June 20, 7 p.m. — Joanna Stroz, carillonneur

Tuesday, June 27, 7 p.m. — Karel Keldermans, carillonneur

Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the music from the Main Quadrangle or on the Seminary grounds near Luther Statue. In the event of rain, guests may gather under the archways and tower on campus. The concert will continue unless the carillonneur feels it is unsafe.

Guests may meet the carillonneur at the base of the tower after each recital.
