The Elixir of Love (L'elisir d'amore) by Donizetti

Winter Opera St. Louis concludes its 11th season with Gaetano Donizetti’s delightful comic opera L’elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love). An opening performance at 7:30pm on Friday, March 9 will be followed by a second performance at 3pm on Saturday, March 11. Both performances are sponsored by Nancy Pillsbury, and will be sung in Italian with English supertitles.
The role of Adina will be performed by Winter Opera’s General Director and acclaimed soprano Gina Galati. Opposite Galati is Winter Opera newcomer, tenor Peter Drackley, who plays Nemorino. Nemorino buys a love potion from a travelling salesman to try and win Adina’s affection. Will he succeed before it’s too late?
