From Sea to Shining Sea

Listed among the top 5 Best Free Attractions on The Go! List of 2018, The Gateway Festival Orchestra continues its 54-year tradition of free outdoor concerts on Sunday evenings in July. The 50-piece ensemble of professional musicians performs onstage in the Brookings Quadrangle at Washington University. Bring a lawn chair or blankets for relaxing on the grass surrounded by beautiful Gothic Revival architecture. Picnics are welcome, parking is free, Ted Drewes Frozen Custard is available for purchase, and children receive an attendance prize. "Notes to Munch On / Meet the Artists" pre-concert discussion begins at 7:10pm, followed by the concert at 7:30pm.
