Registration for the National Film Challenge is now open! The competition weekend is October 22-25, 2010.

The National Film Challenge is an exhilarating worldwide filmmaking competition from the creators of the 48 Hour Film Project and KDHX. The Premise: Participating teams have just one weekend to write, shoot and edit a short fiction film. Regardless of where you live, this is your opportunity to experience the 48 Hour Film Project phenomenon!

You'll receive a character, prop, line of dialogue, and a genre through filmchallenge.org at 7pm local time, October 22nd. Then you'll have to mail the film in on October 25th.  In the following weeks the top films (determined by a national panel of judges) will be available for viewing (and voting!) on our website. The winning films will screen at the next Filmapalooza, the 48 Hour Film Project's end of year event at the Miami International Film Festival. In addition there are cash prizes for the winning films!

Only 300 spots are available so secure your team's spot now! A discounted Earlybird registration is available through September 21. EXTENDED through September 24! Register your team now!
