Screenwriting Master Class
Part 1 - December 3- 10am
This class will go over styles and techniques of narrative screenwriting, dialogue writing, as well as a discussion of the writing industry. Participants will have the opportunity to get feedback and work with Bobby Miller to craft a scene to be performed the following week by professional actors, Peter Mayer and Peggy Billo. Four writers will be selected to complete a scene for the following class. Participants may want to bring a written piece to work on during this class.
Part 2 December 10 - 10am
This class will pick up where the first part left off and participants will review their writing from the previous week. The four selected pieces will be performed by professional actors followed by a critique of each piece.
Due to the nature of this two-part class, the class is limited to 15 participants. This is strictly on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up for the Screenwriting class here.
Directing Master Class
December 10- 1pm
In this class, Bobby Miller will cover fundamentals of directing and working with actors. Professional actors will also be present to discuss working with directors and participants will have the chance to direct and camera block scenes with them.

Bobby Miller has worked as an award-winning director, actor, writer, editor and producer in films, TV, radio and the legitimate theatre for over 30 years. A four-time Emmy Award winner, he has created pilots and projects for Disney, NBC-Universal, AOL and nearly half of the Fortune 100 companies. He has written, directed and edited over 400 films, corporate videos, commercials, documentaries and special television projects. Miller is also an accomplished actor and director for the legitimate stage, named last year by the Riverfront Times as Best Director in St. Louis, 2010, and Best Actor 2009 by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. A specialist in character dialogue, acting and speech coaching, he has directed numerous celebrities from the entertainment, sports and political world, including Sammy Davis, Jr., James Garner, Andy Griffith, Richard Crenna, Peter Graves, Stiller and Meara, Bob & Ray and many more.
About the Actors:
PETER MAYER was trained in the MFA acting program at Catholic University in Washington D.C. under the direction of Academy Award-winning Artist-in-Residence Mercedes McCambridge. After touring for two seasons with The National Repertory Company, he was seen as " Duke Rafferty " in the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light. He has appeared in over 100 stage productions under Actors' Equity, and has co-starred in the films THE BLACK HOLE, ABDUL LOVES CLEOPATRA, ANOTHER CHRISTMAS, JOINT BODY, and KINGSHIGHWAY. He was recently seen as Judge Paul Sumner in the NBC series THE PLAYBOY CLUB. In addition to his work as screenwriter of CITY OF THE BLUES, he has also written three other screenplays. Peter has been nominated for two Kevin Kline Best Actor awards and was just named by The Riverfront Times as Best Actor Of 2011 for his performance in Arthur Miller's THE PRICE. He will next appear with Bobby Miller in THE VALUE OF NAMES at the New Jewish Theatre.
PEGGY BILLO's stage and screen career spans three decades, primarily in Los Angeles where she split her time between stage, film, TV and commercial roles… if you were a fan of Bold and the Beautiful during the time Amber stole Becky’s baby you might be saying “SHE was Aunt Tillie!” and you’d be right. Other Film/TV roles include Third Rock from the Sun, Seventh Heaven, The Jersey, and Dr. Benny. Since moving to St Louis in 2007, Peggy has had the pleasure of appearing onstage with The Rep, New Jewish Theatre, Avalon Theatre, Muddy Waters, STAGES St Louis, Orange Girls, Ozark Actors Theatre, The Arrow Rock Lyceum, and Mustard Seed Theatre where she is currently a Resident Artist. Along with having toured nationally and appearing in regional theaters across the country, Peggy proudly holds a degree in Biology/History. She is a member of AEA, SAG, and AFTRA. She can currently be seen in the lead role of Boo in the New Jewish Theatre's The Last Night at Ballyhoo.
