Hailing from Philadelphia, Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band is an engaging children-oriented group that devotes their musicianship for the greater good of adolescents. Alex Mitnick leads the multi-member group that includes two female singers, guitar, bass, drums and trombone. Together they create entertaining songs such as "I'm So Glad" and "Blue Sky Time" that make for a colorful spectrum of humor.
Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band have won numerous awards, including a Parents' Choice Foundation Recommendation, Independent Music Awards Best Song for Children and Best New Artist and Best Album for Pre-Schoolers from the Children’s Music Web. Their most recent album is "Kaleidoscope Songs III: Animals We Dream" released in 2008.
