Amanda Cevallos may have Latin roots and may have been a VJ for a Latin music video show, but her sound is all Texas roadhouse.

Cevallos grew up in Houston, Texas and her entertainment career began early at age 9 as a child model and by age 17 she was the VJ on her own cable music video show. Cevallos has also worked as an actress, doing voice-over work, and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Modern Dance. By then, she also had released one album and one EP.

Deciding to pursue music, Cevallos started a country band in Austin, Texas and lovingly pestered her way into a residency at the legendary honky tonk, the Broken Spoke. It was a good move and it put her elbows into contact with more established acts and some country music legends.

Cevallos' 2012 release, "I'll Never Honky Tonk You," featured such country music heavyweights as Lloyd Maines and Dale Watson. The four songs featured here are from that album and the sound just couldn't get much more country. Pull up a tall beer and a bowl of peanuts for this one. Just don't throw the shells on the floor.
