The New Orleans-based, Swedish-born guitarist and songwriter has long had a special way with a line and a melody. His songs -- which cut across rock, blues, country and folk -- often feel like glimpses inside the mind of a brilliant loner. Over the years, those glimpses have often been of a dark and restless psyche, but of late Anders Osborne seems content, even happy.
His most recent album, "Black Eye Galaxy," has two sides, much like his life. The first half consists of full, rock-based songs filled with loud, bluesy Stratocaster. But the second side is quieter and brims with hopeful acoustic affirmations. It's this latter side of Osborne that comes through strongest in this intimate acoustic session.
