Leader of the semi-legendary Old Time Relijun, de Dionyso has always tested the limits of the experimental and the exotic, but with Malaikat dan Singa (which translates as "Angels and Lions") the Olympia Wash.-based musician enters a new realm of sonic hallucinations. This Live at KDHX session features de Dionyso backed by a band worthy of Captain Beefheart and "The Year of Living Dangerously," as they collectively grunt, skronk, swing and improvise, finding an utterly original, utterly dreamlike and always provocative sound.
