Question: What happens when you take two cute sisters from the sunny landscape of California who have a love for sugary pop hooks and the noise laden minimalism of punk rock? Answer: Bleached!

Streaming Audio

This sibling duo of Jennifer and Jessie Clavin took over the KDHX studios with their brand of pop obsessed punk rock. There is a history of indie adulation for the Clavin sisters that spans to their previous band Mika Miko which landed a co-label deal with Kill Rock Stars and Post Present Medium in 2006; this adulation has now turned its focus toward Bleached. The dissolution of Mika Miko has given them the outlet to expand on their simple and effective songwriting and arrangements.

The minimalist sound Bleached produces does not take away from the aural pleasures that abound in their music. They are the personification of their songs rather than a slicked up polished product dominating the plastic Top 40 market. Bleached produces an astoundingly raw and energetic sound that is candies for the ears.

Aside from the critical poetic waxing Bleached is just plain fun. These three songs give a glimpse into how much fun the Clavin sisters are and how much fun they are having. These songs could be the soundtrack to high school, college or just a lazy day at the beach. Bleached is a healthy dose of noisy, pop-punk sunshine.
