Some bands play the blues to recapture a lost past; some play because they feel it. St. Louis band Brown Bottle Fever are firmly in the latter camp, electrifying the blues with a gritty, hoosier-rock sensibility.

With vocals and harmonica as overdriven as their guitars, the four members of Brown Bottle Fever keep the sound lo-fi but aggressive, with a nod to the minimalism of the White Stripes and the deep fuzz groove of R.L. Burnside.
