Cee Cee James is a sultry queen of down-home blues rock.

Nicknamed "The Vocal Volcano," James takes style cues from blues, soul and gospel divas of the '60s and '70s. Her original songwriting is honest and recounts personal experiences of travel with hardships along the way. Currently based in St. Louis, James continues to expand her fan base at home and abroad, and has recently returned from a European tour.

Accompanied by her husband/guitarist/co-writer, Rob "Slideboy" Andrews, James visits the 88.1 KDHX studios preceding a weekend performance at Beale on Broadway. She has recently added several new songs to her 20-year repertoire, including "Let's Get Loose" -- from her third and upcoming album, "Blood Red Blues" -- which examines problems in modern life ("smash your TV, video games") accompanied by a foot-stomping Delta blues riff.

Spectacular yet intimate, Cee Cee James draws in listeners with an emotive voice that hits the gut like a warm shot of whiskey. Paired with Andrews' talent on the slide guitar, James makes the world of blues rock a whole lot steamier.
