It's easy to close your eyes and sink into the waves of sound reverberating through the meandering yet never morose compositions of City Center. The east coast duo brought its dreamy, distorted sound to Juxtaposition.

Ryan Howard and Fred Thomas are a two-man outfit capable of producing a surprisingly full sound. The gently hypnotic ambience of City Center obscures a deceptively complex layering of hazy vocals, thick percussion and samples of found sounds. Often alternating between quiet meditative moments and majestic crescendos, the group grounds their work with a light, almost pop sensibility that bleeds through as an unrelenting sense of uplift. The prolific group just finished a long tour and is in the studio this summer working on a new full length album on the Captured Tracks label.
