Texas native, and Springfield, Ill. resident, Cowboy Randy Erwin graced the KDHX studios with his distinct vocal presence on Musical Merry-Go-Round. Erwin is best known for the yodeling technique he incorporates into his music. His voice reconstructs the sound of traditional country and his talent is just as undeniable as his reputation in the industry.

Erwin experiments with pitch by applying his voice to various country-western music formats. The combination of the fiddle and the bass creates a contrasting dynamic, while his vocal transitions subtlely complement and harmonize with the stringed instrumentation. Southern gospel, bluegrass and folk can all be considered influential elements in Erwin's sound. His own songs are lyrically simple and typically narrate a storyline that engages the young and the adult alike.
