Stepping out from his role as Chumbawamba's lead singer, Nobacon's revolutionary math is simple: country+folk+punk+sea shanties = solo career. This year he's been killing two birds with one stone as he tours the states behind the album Woebegone and the book Three Dead Princes. The new character-driven album focuses on the fictional lives of Johnny Woebegone and Lithuania Red with songs of “oil, sex, death, and other worldliness.” The collection evokes tough drinking songs echoing out from a passing sailor’s ship.
Now residing in Twisp, Wash., the British rocker continues to make music with Chumbawumba and supports independent recording labels in a variety of American cities.
