For years, Darrell Scott has been one of Nashville's best kept secrets. But with his work with Robert Plant's Band of Joy and a stream of solo albums, fans of roots music have taken notice.

The Kentucky-born, Indiana-raised musician is not only an-ever in-demand multi-instrumentalist and session player, but also a major songwriter, having penned hits for everyone from Travis Tritt to Sara Evans to Brad Paisley to the Dixie Chicks. But it's as a solo artist that he's most musically powerful.

During his visit to the KDHX studios, Scott performed four songs that demonstrate his serious guitar chops and his gift for both the blues and a great country hook. Of special note is the flawless performance of one of his signature songs of personal and social commentary, "The Day Before Thanksgiving."
