Known for their powerful live performances and gripping soulful sound, the Nashville band has been gaining steam since their inception with the independent label, G.E.D. Soul Records in 2008.
DeRobert's dynamic voice coupled with the brass and rhythm of his ensemble hits your ears and dives straight into your soul with passionate lyrics and superbly funky sounds. With their "Soul in a Digital World" album gaining the title of "Best Soul Album" in Nashville Scene's "Best of" issue, it's no wonder that DeRobert and his gang are making such a mark on the soul scene.
The three pieces performed, "Mama Told Me," "Time Flies (Get on It!)" and "The Speech," all have a vibe that sends the listener straight back to the 70's. The wah-wah pedal stepping through the songs with a funky fresh swagger along with killer trumpet and saxophone rips make for a collective sound that will have most every toe tapping. With the obvious talent and instrumental skill of this group, there's no direction for them to go but up.
