For this session, Cook was joined by her longtime partner Tim Carroll on guitar and background vocals; the songs from her 2010 album Welder shine in the stripped-down setting. Whether satirizing male egos in "El Camino" or evoking real-life struggles on "Heroin Addict Sister," Cook captures, with warmth and humor, what it's like to be a woman in a male-dominated country music world. She's not asking for sympathy, just that you follower her stories wherever they may go.
