Drawing from a background diverse enough to take him from the fields of Maine potato farm to social work in Boston's inner city, singer/songwriter Ellis Paul tells tales of struggle and triumph in the style of folk heroes like Woody Guthrie.

Ellis Paul grew up in Maine, where he worked on his grandfather's potato farm and excelled in sports. After moving to Massachusetts to attend Boston College on a track scholarship, Paul found himself picking up the guitar after a career-ending injury. Graduating with a degree in English, Paul became a teacher and a social worker for underprivileged youth in Boston while he honed his songwriting skills at open mic nights, coffee houses and clubs in his spare time.

Following in the footsteps of his heroes, Paul helped bring about the revival of folk music in the 90's by writing and performing songs that would create a common ground for new folk-pop fans and old-school adherents to artists like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. Ellis is a full-time road warrior, averaging more than 200 shows a year while crisscrossing the country in search of old friends, new fans and the American Dream.
