Free Energy is an exuberant Philadelphia-based rock band that plays the kind of pop-rock that sounds perfect in a stadium or a club.

Streaming Audio

Free Energy has toured with many indie heavyweights, including Mates of State and Titus Andronicus. The band has found a niche mixing the melodies of a '70s stadium-rock vibe with the energy of early '80s punk and new wave. There's a bit of Nick Lowe's songwriting, riffs courtesy of the Cars and Cheap Trick's rhythm. You might even be reminded of how a guitar-driven song can still make you want to dance. Each of the songs performed for this session comes from the band's recently released second record, "Love Signs."
