If the Beach Boys joined with the Troggs to make a soundtrack for a Clint Eastwood movie, the result might be something like the band's oeuvre. The band's new album, "Floating Out to See," could not be more aptly named as it feels like a trip of the type meant to produce a vision more than garner a sticker for your suitcase.

The album was made in a home basement rather than in a standard recording studio and the new surroundings allowed the group to take more time to perfect the sound and feel they sought for the record, and they were highly successful in reproducing that sound for this Live at KDHX performance.

The three songs in this session are all from the new release and show a band that is truly beginning to understand how to capture both homage to the past and its relativity to the present.
