About this Media...

  • Date Recorded: April 25, 2011
  • Artist / Band: Jon Bonham
  • Hosting Show: Musical Merry-Go-Round
  • Sound: Dan Kinney

Jon Bonham may share a name with a certain famous drummer, but he's begun to make a name for himself on the St. Louis rock & roll songwriter scene.

With a baritone voice as rough as Tom Waits or Scott H. Biram and a growing catalog of earnest but edgy songs, Bonham can be heard playing just about any smokey dive in St. Louis. For this live session, however, Bonham shows his folkier side, with covers of the traditional standard "Jenny Jenkins" and songs by Woody Guthrie and Wilco and Willie Nelson.
