If you're a fan of the garagey-er, more psychedelic side of punk rock, you know the name Kid Congo. He's an influential, open-tuned guitarist and a manic record maker who records live in gymnasiums and captures all the messy, murky and marvelous sounds of Mexican-American culture and L.A. post-glam rock. Along with the Pink Monkey Birds, he released Dracula Boots in 2009 and is set to release Gorilla Rose, another foray into his own vision of heavy and weird boogaloo music, in March 2011.
