Led by front man (and nephew of the legendary J.B. Hutto) Lil’ Ed Williams, the Blues Imperials include guitarist Mike Garrett, bassist James “Pookie” Young and drummer Kelly Littleton; the 4 musicians have played together for 20 years and counting. Their time-perfected, vivid blues energetically pursues the interaction of sound and open space in upbeat jams or relaxed-tempo grooves. Even during studio recording sessions, Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials turn the booth into a stage for a late-night gig, showcasing spectacular club-like performances that can move sound engineers to dance like audience members.
Their commitment to exhilarating music has won the group BMA and Living Blues Awards including "Best Live Performer” and “Band of the Year." They've performed their extensive catalog at music festivals across the globe, even making multiple appearances on the Conan O’Brien show. Their latest album Full Tilt features new original music and marked the kickoff of their current national tour -- with a sprinkle of international shows mixed in.
