If Lucero's music were a tattoo, it would be a rattlesnake wrapped around a whiskey bottle stamped with a heart broken down the middle. Even when stripped down to acoustic guitar and accordion, the Memphis band's country-scorched rock & roll shines through with punk resilience.

Lucero: Live at KDHX 12/7/10 by KDHX

Hard living, hard drinking and hard rocking through the underbelly of American life -- that's the world of Lucero. For this session songwriter Ben Nichols pulls out some lesser known material and lets accordionist Rick Stef stretch out beautifully; together they spin prolific stories from the "other side of lonesome," celebrating, with fierce realism, their working-class, southern roots.
