An ambitious keyboardist has an endless variety of instruments to choose from, ranging from the acoustics of the piano and traditional organ to the experimental sounds of the electric keyboard and synthesizer, but Marco Benevento never settled for these choices. A true master of everything ebony and ivory, Benevento has never been content with the pre-existing sounds presented to him, and has built a reputation as an expert in circuit-bending instrumentation as well.

He started his career in the world of improvisational music while still a teenager in New Jersey before moving on to the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Afterwards, he immediately became a well-known member of the Brooklyn jazz scene by working with many A-list performers and as a member of the Jazz Farmers. Benevento soon formed his renowned duo with drummer Joe Russo -- the Benevento/Russo Duo -- and in 2005 joined Stanton Moore's Garage A Trois before beginning to branch out as a solo artist and bandleader in 2008.
